Mr. Longo has been sculpting in clay, metal and wood for over 27 years. In 1991 he volunteered to teach pottery for Free Arts For Abused Children in Los Angles at the Eric Erickson Center. While teaching he asked some new students "who wants to try throwing clay?" WOW! In no time clay was all over the walls! Seizing the moment he framed the clay splattered on the wall and said, "This is art!" He took down the frame and said, "That's a mess!" He used the same clay to make sculptures, telling the students, "This is also art"! Those students and the staff along with art lovers around the world now adopt and admire his whimsical creations! They help everyone see that Fine Art can be fun.
Tony lives in Santa Barbara, California, and regularly displays his work at the weekly Sunday Art and Craft Show on the beach in Santa Barbara. He also participates in art shows throughout southwestern United States. Click here for a calendar of events.
